Debut Single: Thief
Released Date: 27 January 2016
Today I am sharing the new song from Karma Wild. Very happy and proud to say they are based in Southend, England, not far from where I live.
They are a 5 piece alternative rock band with excellent song writing skills. I have known the three members of Karma Wild as the brain children of their previous band The Novelty. The Novelty stopped being active at the time the lead singer left the band for personal reasons almost a year ago. This blog has featured the bassist of The Novelty as a part of Girl Power articles. With two additional members, Karma Wild brings a fresh alternative rock sound.
You can listen to their debut track “Thief” and read the interview below, which is still fresh from Sunday night.
Karma Wild is definitely the band you should check out.

The track is also available for streaming via SoundCloud as well as for purchasing through iTunes.
Two days ago, Karma Wild took their time for our interview. Here it is;
Could you tell us how you all met up and became a band?
Well Joe, Jake and Mike played a gig at Chinnerys in Southend with our old band ‘The Novelty’. On the line-up was Shouting Signals. We met Scott, their guitarist who went on to become our bassist. He is also in Fall Out Boy tribute band ‘Fell Out Boy’. Their keyboardist Chris auditioned to be our singer, and we liked what we heard.
How did you decide on Karma Wild as your band name?
After an exhausting brainstorming session, we experimented with artwork and found the name connecting to the overall sound of the band.
Who are your influences? Does everyone listen to similar music or musicians?
We all have our own tastes, but some of our similar influences would be:
Royal Blood, Lower Than Atlantis, Arctic Monkeys, The 1975, Don Broco and Young Guns.
I find that your debut single “Thief” is quite distinctive. How do you describe this song?
It’s the overall representation of the band’s sound, combining the heavier sided riff rock, mixed with an arena melodic esque ambience, combined with gutsy vocals.
I like your description! How do you go about writing your songs?
Music is the starting point of which, then vocal melodies add character to the song. Finalising with less cliché lyrics to create an interesting overall song.
I do believe that your writing skills are excellent. You have a show early March. Is it Karma Wild’s first show?
YES!
You must be very excited!
We are all buzzing to finally show what has been ongoing for the last year behind closed doors.
I must say you have been hiding very well with all these great stuff! Maybe a little too early to ask, but do you have a plan for releasing more songs, an EP maybe?
Our plan so far for the next 6 months is to follow up with new singles and music videos, which comes from the body of work that we have been creating since we formed early May 2015.
Sounds great! Is there anything else you would like to say?
We hope people enjoy the music, as much as we do recording and playing it.
I hope so too! I am very excited about Karma Wild getting active, and can’t wait to listen to more songs. Thank you for your time!
