Take Flight
Debut Single: Know.

Hailing from Guildford, Surrey, a new metalcore/post hardcore band Take Flight released their debut single ‘Know.’ today. The two key members of the band, Zander Dale and Mikey Thomas were together in their previous band Hanshotfirst that sadly called it a day at the beginning of last year and their next chapter was long awaited by fans and a like. The announcement came shortly after, and finally the new quintet was formed.

‘Know.’ begins with Zander’s long roar and a heavy guitar sound which leads up to Zander’s gentle clean vocals. Then the lead vocal is taken over by Mikey, and eventually lies on top of Zander’s unclean vocal. I really enjoy their layered coordination of voices.  The most appealing part of this track ‘Know.’ is definitely the guitars, the big riffs stay in your head for a long, long time. If I use their words, combining “Big Riffs and Emo Sensibilities”, then Take Flight are spreading their wings with a statement of intent. ‘Know.’ is a great start for this newly formed band!

‘Know.’ is the first single taken from their forthcoming EP ‘Grey.’ which is mixed, produced and mastered by Oz Craggs (Feed The Rhino, Neck Deep, Mallory Knox, Polar) at Hidden Tracks Studios. ‘Grey.’ is due out later this year.

The quintet made their debut live performance supporting Palm Reader at the Fighting Cocks, Kingston earlier this year. Take Flight‘s next show on 5th July 2019 sees them co-headlining the Boileroom, Guildford alongside Icarus Dive, Morale and Versa… all talented young bands from their home town.
