LUTE
Single: Dead and Buried
Hailing from Manchester, LUTE are a four piece progressive rock/metal band. Dead and Buried is the band’s third single since the album Learning Through Progression was officially released two years ago.
Dead and Buried begins with a mysteriously theatrical intro, then detonates heavy riffs and pounding drums with a dark and tense atmosphere. The varied vocal range of the powerful lyrics expresses the struggles of today, and the helpless current global state, which we can all relate to. The band has said, “LUTE’s lyrics explore the daily routine of a 9 to 5 life and the anxieties it brings. The ongoing desires of faceless workers in faceless offices to break out of endless cycles of repetition.” The combination of the heavy layered guitars effectively give the song more depth. This track is 13 minutes long. It’s not too long by prog standard but the longest track they have released so far. It is worth spending 13 minutes to experience this epic musical journey. LUTE might break the barrier and bring prog-rock to an even wider audience.
