Today I am sharing the song “Car Crash (In Progress)” by Cold Summer.

This song was released in September 2014, but I only discovered it about 2 months ago. This post-hardcore track with a punk rock flavour attracts me, in particular the repeating cool guitar riffs and the clean vocal parts. The pace doesn’t let up at any point in this track. It is raw, but at the same time they have crafted a catchy song. I must say that the track title is also very appealing to me!

Cold Summer were formed in late 2011. They are from Wakefield, West Yorkshire in England. They have seen their releases (despite being ‘under the radar’) meet critical acclaim, following the self release of two EPs, ‘Transitions’ and ‘Wake’ during 2012, then their ‘Self Titled’ album in July 2013. In addition to this, the band self booked a tour back in January 2014 to promote the album release as well as being selected to support the US band He Is Legend on their UK tour in October 2014.
Their relentless stream of live shows & recording output have resulted in a large and growing fan base across the North of England. This factor brought them playing shows alongside well respected yet diverse bands such as: Funeral For A Friend, Polar, He Is Legend, Self Defense Family, Lemuria and Blitz Kids.

“Car Crash (In Progress)” was released as a single in September via iTunes / Bandcamp/ Spotify as well as being featured on the cover CD of Big Cheese Issue 171 (including Godsmack, Finch & Sick Of It All) released the same week.
After touring the UK with He Is Legend (Tragic Hero Records / Artery ) in October, the band completed recording their next release ‘Fight To Survive’ with Mike Bennett, to be tentatively released later in 2015.
